Musical catharsis: how does a person experience music?

I remembered a curious episode: my colleague was to perform advanced training courses for school teachers. Teachers ordered a more than specific theme - the algorithm of musical influence on the listener.

I do not know how she, poor, got out! After all, what kind of algorithm is there - a continuous “stream of consciousness”! Is it possible to fix emotions in a strictly defined sequence, when one "flows" to another, in a hurry to push out, and there already another one is on the way ...

But learning music is a must!

The Greeks believed that it was necessary to teach only counting, writing, taking care of physical education, and also developing aesthetically, thanks to music. Rhetoric and logic were included in the list of main subjects a little later, about the others there is nothing to say.

So music. It is tempting to talk only about instrumental music, but to do so is to artificially deplete oneself and potential readers of this material. Therefore, we take the whole complex in the aggregate.

Enough, I can't do this anymore!

From the famous ancient Greek scientist and encyclopedist Aristotle, only fragments of treatises remained. According to them it is difficult to get an idea of the whole. For example, the term "catharsis", which later entered both aesthetics, psychology, and Freud's psychoanalysis, has about 1,500 interpretations. And yet, most researchers agree that Aristotle had in mind the strongest emotional shock from what he heard, saw or read. A keen awareness of the impossibility to continue to swim passively along the life course comes to a person, the need for change appears. In fact, a person gets a kind of "motivational kick." Didn't the youth of perestroika pore rage, barely having heard the sounds of the song Viktor Tsoi "Change requires our hearts", although the song itself was written before perestroika:

Doesn't the heart rate become more frequent and full of full-fledged, healthy patriotism, listening to the duet of Lyudmila Zykina and Yuliana with the song "Mother and son":

Songs - like a hundred-year-old wine

By the way, a sociological survey was conducted, where respondents were asked: whose women's and men's voices are able to have a healing, cleansing effect, relieve pain and suffering, awaken the best memories in your soul? The answers were quite predictable. They chose Valery Obodzinsky and Anna Herman. The first was unique not only by vocal, but also by the fact that he sang in an open voice - a great rarity on the modern stage, many performers "cover up" the voice.

The voice of Anna Herman is clear, crystal, angelic, carrying us away from worldly vanities somewhere to a higher and ideal world:

"Bolero" The composer Maurice Ravel is recognized as male, erotic, offensive music.

Selflessness and courage are overwhelmed by listening "Holy War" performed by G. Alexandrov choir:

And watch the clip of a modern original artist - Igor Rasteryaev "Russian road". It is a clip! And then the performance of a song with an accordion already seems to no one frivolous or frivolous:
